Welcome back blog!

So, 2nw’s been down for a while, but we’re back! Thanks for fixing it Eric! 🙂
ETA: A certain spouse grumbled that Eric wasn’t the only on who worked on it, so I guess I should thank everyone who did. I hate the drive to KC, so I’m just glad we weren’t the one’s to go pick up Helios.
So, I went on vacation to Tennessee about a month ago, and am just now getting the pictures up. I know, I know, I am SUCH a procrastinator! The photos can be found here:
My Tennessee vacation
Oh, and I am the proud owner of a new camera! Matt won’t let me take any pictures of him…he gets a grouchy face when I try to. I’m really tired of taking pictures of the damn cat! Just you wait, I’ll get him!

Off to Tennessee

I’ll be leaving for Tennessee at 6 am with my folks. Matt unfortunately can’t come because of work and school. That sucks, but on the plus side, my best girl friend Sara is coming up from Atlanta to stay with us! And since she’s a member of the media (she’s a news producer), she hooked me up with a free ticket to Dollywood! And yes, I am proud to say that I am going to Dollywood. I know it’s a glorified Silver Dollar City, but I don’t care. :p
So, I’ll be gone from tomorrow (June 24) to Thursday (the 28th). If you really need me, I’ll have my cell phone on me. I’m bringing my laptop, but seeing as there is no internet, I won’t get any emails from you all. While I have my phone with me, I encourage you NOT to call me. 🙂 I probably won’t answer it anyways.
See you all later!

Mmmm…..rum

I’m watching how they make rum, which is really interesting. And in the “Everybody Cooks” magazine that I picked up at Dierberg’s, they have a great drink recipe that I think we should try on the 4th….
Morgan Street Pitcher Punch
12 oz. spiced rum
16 oz. fresh orange juice (about 4 oranges)
8 oz. pineapple juice
2 oz. fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
1/3 c. simple syrup
2 oz. grenadine
Orange slices
Lemon slices
Mint sprigs
Fill 2-quart clear pitcher halfway with ice. Add rum, orange juice, pineapple juice, lemon juice, simple syrup, and grenadine. Stir to mix. Garnish with orange and lemon slices and sprigs of mint. Makes 6 servings.
Yum……
