I like how this turned out. It’s not my typical style (it’s so bright and cheerful- that’s just unnatural for me), but I had to work with this particular digital kit. For those of you who aren’t familiar with digital scrapbook designers (which is probably everyone reading this), most of them have a Creative Team that they give their products to for free, so they have people promoting their products, and showing potential customers what can be done with them. I actually have the honor of having two one-month spots for two awesome designers- Paula Duncan (which is the designer’s kit I used on this layout) and Cori Gammon (which hasn’t started yet). And I actually just got a PERMANENT spot on this awesome new designer’s team. You can see me here!
In other creative news, I’m actually working on two logos right now, and I’m pretty thrilled with the results so far. I’m getting more and more comfortable with Illustrator, and here’s one of the logos in progress. This is my friend Sally’s sports photography business:
What’s new in life:
-MATT IS DONE WITH SCHOOL! Holy crap, I may actually get to spend some time with him! And when I say done, I mean for like a year. He’s likely going to go back and get his MBA, which is fine by me- as long as Boeing keeps paying for it.
-Iron Man was awesome. Sequel was just announced, which makes me happy. I actually like going to a matinee show….especially the price. 😉 Speed Racer is this weekend, which I’m a bit apprehensive about. It might be amazing, or it could suck donkey balls.
-Went to a Cards game for the third weekend in a row. Brought alone Mallen and Don, but we actually stayed the whole time! We were surrounded by Cubs fans, but it wasn’t bad at all. I was dreading going and dealing with drunk assholes. I’ve decided that I MUST learn how to make bratzels (a pretzel wrapped around a brat) for 4th of July.
-I always listen to music when working on the computer, and I must say, I’ve been a bit obsessed with Amy Winehouse lately. Back to Black really is a good album. She’s batshit crazy, but I think that’s why I like her. 🙂 Oh, and the soundtrack to Into the Wild is also really good (it’s all Eddie Vedder).
-Trying to wean off the caffeine. Not working at all. God, I love Dr. Pepper.
-Going to stick a template website up for my portfolio until I get around to actually making one. Problem is that I can never make up my mind on what I want. But, I figured something is better than nothing, and I won’t get any business without a website of SOME sort. I have got to STOP being so lazy about work, and start making some money!
Wow, I really rambled on and on, didn’t I? I should probably stop now. 😀
Oh! So that’s what a creative team is. 😀 Would you believe I hadn’t the foggiest clue and was too embarrassed to ask anyone what it was. 😉
