August 2006 Archives
Starbucks is wonderful when you've only had 2 hours of sleep then drove 160 miles.....
Well, as of 7:44pm on August 22, I am OFFICIALLY an aunt! Rodney and Christine welcomed baby Addison Michael into the world. Matt took a couple of pics, so he should be posting them to his blog. No sense in looking at them twice!
I FINALLY got my cat! We adopted her from the Humane Society on Saturday. They said her name was Mary, but I didn't like that, so I changed it to Molly. No pics yet (seeing as I haven't bought a Rebel and Matt's battery died), but she is all black with yellow (not green) eyes. She is so sweet!
She has adjusted rather well. We set up a room just for her with her food, water, bed, and litter box. I bought her wet food and she did not like it at all! Maybe I just need to try some different flavors and see if she responds to something else. Dry food makes her poop REALLY stink. I'm sure you ALL REALLY wanted to read about that! LOL
As for the cat/kid argument...I *thought* that getting a cat would curb any desire to procreate (along with feeling my nephew's feet through is mom's stomach), but alas, it has not. In fact, it may have increased it. WHY?!?! NO BABIES DAMMIT!!!!11!!
In no particular order.

Isn't the new design pretty?
How the hell do jobs just seem to fall in my lap? I mean, it's awesome-don't get me wrong! I have yet to do ANY advertising whatsoever, and I just landed a contract with a new company called St. Charles Choice to do a TON of work. Basically, you buy a membership card from them, they give you a guidebook with a huge directory of businesses that you can receive discounts from. The discounts change all the time, which is cool. Anyhoo, I will be making their logo, brochures, business cards, the actual membership card, and the guidebook itself. I am SO excited, although a little nervous. We'll see how it turns out!
And as for the house, we are NOT selling it any time soon. Matt says spring we'll reconsider putting it up on the market. You know, I would be happy with keeping the house, as long as we fix the sewer. EVENUTALLY I would like to make some more major costmetic changes, but if we don't have the money for it, then we just don't do it- no biggie. While the driveway sucks for being small, I can't help but love the amount of space we have on the inside. We can't get that much for that amount of money anymore.
And we will be getting a new housemate soon! I plan on getting a cat within the next week. Matt says I have to wrap up some work on the house and make sure it's clean before I can get one, but my mother says she'll come over to help me! :D Yes, I am spoiled.
Matt keeps putting off calling the people about lasik. CALL THEM MATTHEW! You're blind and you NEED this done. It's not like your trying to get lipodissolve or anything (it doesn't suck Don!). This isn't cosmetic...silly man.
Oh, anyone with really good Don photos send to me. I need a creepy Don picture as a desktop. LOL.
